Now I’ve been to the senior homes looking for a place for my mom and I’ve seen many post here after a friend told me about the many people commenting here. After visiting Spence and Assef court I can believe how disgusting they are. It’s unbelievable what you see outside and not a senior in sight. From what I’ve learned they are afraid to leave their units because they are afraid of the people who are out there all day using drugs and fighting and leaving trash everywhere.
I would never let my mom or any senior stay at either place where I was afraid to even enter the buildings. I was inside for one minute and turned around as the smell was so awful you had to hold your breath.
Who in their right mind thought it was a good idea the let anyone other than seniors live in these buildings.
Ive contacted DSSAB numerous times and no reply. I’ve left messages for the board chair Brian Hamilton and nothing back after numerous attempts.
It’s no wonder the buildings are in the shape they are when the ones who are responsible for them won’t even take the time to answer my calls and emails.
I’m so saddened for the poor seniors who have no choice and have to live in fear in their old age when they deserve so much better.
I’ve now left messages with the mayor and it’s been a week and no reply from him either.
This city should be ashamed of how they treat our seniors.
